Ralph Bloemers, Co-Executive Director & Staff
Attorney at the CRAG Law Center, will be our
featured speaker. CRAG is a client-focused law
center that supports community efforts to protect
and sustain the Pacific Northwest’s natural legacy.
CRAG has been involved in several Yamhill County
issues, including the proposed LNG terminals/
pipelines and the proposed quarry that threatens
Grand Island farms. Ralph represents FYC in our
struggle to protect Oregon farmland from
subdivisions approved under Measure 37.
He won the recent Oregon Supreme Court victory
in Friends of Yamhill County v Yamhill County.
An excellent video, Tom McCall: A Better Oregon,
produced by FYC member Marilyn Walster for the
Oregon Historical Society, will precede Ralph’s
presentation. Afterwards, we’ll hear from Alan Fox
about an emerging issue adjacent to the old
Whiteson garbage dump.
Dinner reservations must be made with Ilsa Perse
by February 22, ilsap@earthlink.net.
Cost is $18. Space is limited.
