Who we are:
Nestled in the heart of the Willamette Valley of Oregon, our pigs enjoy running in pastures and sleep on deep bedded straw in a group housed situation. They are fed a well balanced, all vegetarian diet of Corn, Barley, Ground Flax Seed, Soybean Meal, Vitamins and Minerals.
The owners are "hands on" with the care of the pigs. No corporate mentality here. We are composting our manure to help insure the well being of surrounding wildlife and environment. We work every day towards improving the long term sustainability of the environment and of our farm.
Because the health and welfare of our animals and the health of our customers is important to us, we feed milled flax to our animals. Flax seed improves the balance of Omega 3 Fatty Acids thereby providing a superior product to our customers. No Antibiotics are ever fed to our animals. And since a small amount of fat is necessary in their diet, we use vegetable fat instead of the animal fat used by most in the commercial pork industry. Our pork is certified free of diseases and parasites by a third party insuring you a more healthy product.
Q-Bar Farm is a strong supporter of 4H with donations of pigs and trophies.
